Abstract
Electromyography (EMG) signals can be used for clinical or biomedical applications as a tool for understanding muscle behavior and activity during static as well as dynamic states. In this paper, the authors aim to compare the EMG activity recorded from a selected group of leg muscles during walking on level ground (at self selected) and on treadmill at two and two pre-determined speeds. The SEMG and angular parameters of walk of synchronized. The gait cycle which is comprises of seven sub-phases is taken into consideration and the EMG amplitude values are recorded for each of these phases. It was observed that EMG readings and joint angle change measurements were similar for similar speeds on treadmill and level ground walking trials.
