Abstract :
Service metadata model is the basis of a service registry which plays an important role in SOA. Most service metadata models in current service registries mainly concentrate on their general description ability for Web services, but seldom consider their adaptability for special domain, which makes few of them be used in real-world projects without additional customizations. This paper concerns over two attributes which are most related to the adaptability of a service registry, extensibility and semantic annotation, and details requirements on them based on a real world project. Driven by these requirements, a domain-specific service metadata model supporting multiple semantic metadata models for services in different domains is designed based on a two-view approach. Its implementation and application is presented to demonstrate that a user can customize a domain-specific metadata model and add semantic metadata interface in an easy-to-use way.
