Abstract
We present the theory and a design method of 2D perfect reconstruction FIR linear phase filter bank. Several necessary conditions on the filter length and symmetry polarity are derived. A new design method is presented without the use of nonlinear optimization. The object function is expressed as quadratic form of filter coefficients and can be solved iteratively.
