Abstract
Two years ago at INTELEC in San Diego a paper1 was presented about large scale modeling and simulation of data center and telephone exchanges. The models developed were very large and capable of representing a global snapshot (balance sheet) of whole facilities. It was shown that these ‘super models’ could uncover deficiencies not readily detectable by conventional asset management systems. This paper presents findings in the modeling of 81 mission critical telecommunications and data center facilities across Australia and New Zealand.
