Abstract :
A resistance-temperature measurement method has been used to get values of the nucleation temperatures at the bubble jet of a drop-on-demand ink-jet printhead. It has given nucleation temperatures of water, which-in contrast to isothermal nucleation theory-increase with power to more than 320°C. Within a dot power range of 2-12 W, no limitation effects have been observed. A significant difference between the nucleation temperatures of water and ink has not been measured
