Abstract :
Using an inverter circuit to generate a square wave for a DC source can supply a crude approximation of an AC wave form. Obviously, the harmonic content is high and voltage regulation and current limiting are essentially non-existent. When trying to build uninterruptible power supply systems, two of the most critical concerns are making a true representation of the incoming signal to be replaced when necessary and the speed of switching when the incoming supply starts to fail. The microcontroller provides the processing power to accomplish both these concerns
