Abstract :
Copyright protection is an important aspect of the management of resources in any eBusiness dealing with digital multimedia distribution. Two of its main aims are to guarantee that any use of the media is in accordance to its license and to assert the ownership of the media. The solution to copyright protection consists of many technologies, one of which is watermarking. In the case of copyright protection, the robustness of the watermark against any attacks is an issue that needs to be addressed since it directly affects the performance of the copyright protection system. This paper presents a novel technique of using high order polynomial function to embed watermark signature instead of the standard linear function to improve the robustness of the watermark from attacks such as low pass filtering, additive noise and cropping. The embedding process is carried out in the wavelet domain as it is considered as the most robust domain for watermarking in the literature.
