Configurable modules of the MC68300 and MC68HC16 microcontroller families

The Configurable Timer Module has an intermodule bus, just as do the other MC68300 and MC68HC16 peripheral modules. The Configurable Timer Module or CTM also has its own internal bus so that individual components can be composed into a single module.The CTM can have four independent time bases and up to sixty four internal components or modules. As shown in the block diagram, the submodules and time bases are interconnected by the Submodule Bus which is supported by the Bus Interface Unit Submodule. This module interfaces directly to the intermodule bus which connects all of the peripheral modules as well as the CPU module together
