Abstract :
To profoundly expound the Forward Error Correction, we explain the basic principle and how it works at the beginning, and then introduce and compare several different FEC codes layer by layer. From the block code and those codes which belong to it, such as linear group code, cyclic codes (CRC) and BCH, to the convolution code and trellis diagram. After point out some applications of FEC in the fields of wireless and internet, we give out our own opinion about the developing of FEC.
