Abstract
This paper reports on the transition from a reactive motivated agent model to a cognitive agent model based on motivated learning and goal creation. The paper details the current state of our research on the cognitive agent and its implementation in a virtual world environment. In particular, we show the virtual simulation and the agent´s decision making process as it transitions from a parallel to a sequential implementation, as well as several of the reasons for doing so. In addition, results of testing both models on the same simulated environment are compared. The results show that the new model performs more efficiently than the old one. Furthermore, our planned future work on cognitive agent is presented.
