  • Abstract
The organic electroluminescence (EL) device composed of 8-hydroxy-quinoline aluminum (Alq3) and N,N´-diphenyl-N,N´-bis-(3-methylphenylene) 1,1´-diphenyl-4,4´ diamine (TPD) has been fabricated by vacuum evaporation. A strong dependence of the current on the electric field exists. The carrier injection operative in the Alq3-TPD EL device has been explained by the theory of Fowler-Nordheim tunneling. The weak temperature dependence has been attributed to the drift of carriers by thermally activated hopping through localized states
