Abstract :
The uniqueness of HAPS technology has led to evaluation of several issues concerning this new technology. Interference issue is one such issue. Several types of the systems, either terrestrial or aerial, interfere with HAPS based on the frequency range. FSS links are one of the most significant interferer with HAPS gateway links. At this juncture, adjacent channel interference between these two systems is evaluated. Interference computation has been done only for the 1st and 2nd adjacent channels. Evaluation has been performed for both urban and suburban area elevation angles. The results help to determine the HAPS gateway links enhancement possibilities to coexist with FSS links.
