Abstract :
Two-phase forced convective flow in microchannels is promising for the cooling of integrated circuits. Using a mixture model, in which liquid and vapor are treated as mixture, solves the flow field. The enthalpy method is employed to solve the energy equation (in which phase change is included). The fluid properties and thermal properties are calculated by using weight functions. A modified mass conservation equation improved the solution convergence greatly. The present method is limited single fluid system, and temperature difference between liquid and vapor is ignored.
