Abstract
To identify the drivers and trajectories of upgrading, process modeling method based on IDEF0 for industrial value chain (IVC) is proposed. With a top-down modeling procedure, an industrial value chain is decomposed into structured layers of value creating processes involving elements of inputs, outputs, supporting mechanisms and constraints. Technology elements relating to these Value Process elements are analyzed to distinguish the technology drivers of upgrading. A mapping model based on QFD (quality function deployment) is developed to investigate the relationship between the Value Process elements and the technology elements. The proposed approach is applied to LED (Liquid Emitting Dioxide) industries for illustration.
