Abstract :
During the last few years, ATML (Automatic Test Markup Language) is being developed with the combined endeavour of NAVAIR and the industry as a means of exchanging information regarding ATE and TPS data, in an standard carrier format as it is XML. The effort of definition is being followed by an effort of experimenting with the "theoretical" definition in real, deployed systems. The present paper shows the results of the ATML implementation experience in the SAMe ATE Systems developed by Indra S.A, Spain. The SAMe ATE is a General Purpose ATE designed and developed by Indra for the Spanish MoD for the maintenance of all weapon systems. It is designed to be functionally compatible with other ATS currently in use in the three services, such as HTE or CASS. Some ATML schemas, though not frozen, have been implemented in the SAMe System as an additional capability. Test Results are produced by actual TPSs in accordance with ATML schemas, and actual Test Programs have been described using ATML schemas. In addition, a particular use of Test Description schemas has been implemented in the SAMe System.
