Abstract :
The development of electrical trees in unfilled epoxy insulation has been studied. Trees were observed visually with a long-range microscope with simultaneous recording of partial discharge characteristics. Partial discharges measurements were performed using ultrawideband techniques in order to observe variations in partial discharge pulse shape. The results indicate distinct regions of tree growth, each with its own characteristics
