Abstract :
This paper describes laboratory measurements made in support of the US Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) on-the-move high-capacity trunk radio research and development program. The measurements assess the demodulator performance in a multipath environment and dynamic adaptive equalization as a mitigation technique for microwave broadband wireless links with data rates up to 156 Mbps. Modulation schemes range from QPSK to 256 QAM. Channel simulators are used to generate a wide range of multipath delays. Adaptive dynamic equalization, with the number of equalizer taps ranging from none to 128, is used to reduce intersymbol interference (ISI) caused by multipath
