  • Abstract
While the Department of Defense (DoD) has had some success in standardizing automatic test systems (ATS) within the individual Services, the issue of the lack of interoperability between the various families of testers (CASS, IFTE, MCATE, etc.,) remains a challenge. In this paper, we discuss an overarching Systems Engineering Process which can be used to produce ATS architectures, based on the application of industry-wide standards and specifications to advance ATS interoperability within the context of the DoD ATS Framework.
