Abstract :
Voice command recognition and fuzzy logic are two technologies that are changing the way embedded system developers control their products. This paper covers how to use fuzzy logic on an advanced microcontroller with integrated DSP hardware for voice command recognition. The integrated analog-to-digital converter on the advanced microcontroller digitizes the voice command, filters it through low pass filter and encodes it into a series of frequency patterns to be recognized using fuzzy logic inference rules. Using a simple normalization method factors out variation in voice command pitch and volume. A set of self-learning and pattern recognition rules applied to the voice spectrum then determines which command matches the voice input pattern
