Experiences in application of all dielectric self support system in CLP Power

Pole-mounted switches with automation are widely employed at critical locations of CLP Power (CLPP)´s 11kV overhead line system. It could help reduce Customer Minutes Lost (CML) in terms of shortening fault location time and hence faster supply restoration in the event of a fault on an overhead line circuit. The availability of radio communication link is of strategic importance to the effectiveness of distribution system operation and fault handling. However, in the areas with no radio coverage or where radio signal is being interfered, the provision of distribution automation will become infeasible.
