Abstract
The paper describes a non-destructive electro-optical diagnosis concept of partial discharges in solid dielectrics. The aim of the measurements is to localise the partial discharges, to gain information about the power density of the discharges and the correlation with the damage of the dielectric surface. This makes it possible to obtain a qualitative description of the complex deterioration process occurring during partial discharge stress in order to “calibrate” the electrical information during ageing of solid insulations
