Abstract
Object modeling plays a key role in modern information systems, in which objects that have similar features are grouped into classes. As objects may change during their lifetime, history data modeling of objects should be studied. However, former object modeling approaches are still not sufficient for knowledge management. In this paper, a method to record and reuse the evolution history of objects is put forward. This method provides support for knowledge management tasks, such as data analysis and business process modeling. The requirements of object evolution modeling are analyzed first. Then the types of object changes, the representation schema of the changes, the basic functions on the object history and applications of this method are discussed.
