Abstract :
This paper presents an automatic design method of fuzzy controllers using the “rule-to-rule mapping” method. Required response of the control systems can be given by linguistic expressions. The fuzzy controller is designed based on both the fuzzy model of the controlled object and the linguistic specifications translated from the required response of the control system. The feasibility of the method is examined by experiments with an inverted pendulum. The results show that the method is effective to satisfy the linguistic requirements
