Abstract :
A study was done on oil-filled paper insulation for high voltage direct current (HVDC). Mass impregnated non-draining (MI), kraft, and polypropylene laminated paper (PPLP) were compared to evaluate the properties of polarity reversal, damped oscillating wave, and voltage recovery time. The characterization suggests that PPLP is, on the whole, suitable material for the bulk power DC transmission cable
