Abstract
In this paper the optimization of multiuser systems using Yates´ interference calculus is considered. The framework has recently drawn some attention due to its generality. Focusing here on the power minimization problem it is shown that the framework allows to formulate equivalent optimization problems which can be solved by algorithms that have better convergence properties than the fixed-point approach of Yates. Several examples in the context of MMSE minimization are given.
