Abstract
This paper is about design and development of a pulse power generator which can suitably generate high voltage pulse and radiate for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. For ultra wide band applications, specific pulse shape and amplitude is extremely important. In this paper critical parameters for generation and radiation of high voltage pulse using wide band antenna is thoroughly discussed. Design of pulse power system to achieve these parameters, simulation and testing of the system to measure the same has been narrated. Generated voltage pulse is radiated using wide band antenna and measurement of the radiated field is carried out. Maximum electric field of 10 kV/m containing wide band frequency from 100MHz to 1GHz is achieved at 10m distance. Details of the design, simulation, testing and experimental results are articulated in this paper.
