Abstract :
The geogrid is used widely in road and railroad embankment project because of high tensile strength, large friction angle with soil interface and lock ability etc. Embankment project of soft clay foundation is analyzed by the finite element analysis with ADINA, the soil and filling of embankment project uses the Mohr-Coulomb model, the sand mat uses linear elastic constitutive model, the contact element uses the plane strain 2-D element. Step load is considered in the model, the settlement and lateral deformation is discussed in the analysis, the calculation value of finite element method is reasonable to compare with measured data. The method can supply reference more exactly for design and construction of reinforced treatment soft clay foundation.
