Abstract
Presents GOMSE (Group-Oriented Modeling and Simulation Environment), based on computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW) concepts and discrete-event simulation (DEVS). Important features of such an environment are: to allow geographically and temporally dispersed group members to collaborate in all steps of a simulation project; to improve the quality and efficiency of simulation projects; to reduce the design time and design errors; and to help in sharing knowledge between members at different levels. GOMSE can also be used as a cooperative learning support environment for modeling and simulation techniques in an educational area. In this case, the teacher can act as the project manager and the students act as team members
