Abstract :
An electrooptic effect of a freely suspended ferroelectric liquid crystal (FSFLC) film and its application have been studied. An electric field measurement utilizing the electrooptic effect of the FSFLC film which can be easily prepared was proposed. The magnitude of the electrooptic effect of the film was proportional to the applied field intensity. In order to show the application of the film, measurements of field distributions around the edge of an electrode were carried out
