Abstract :
This paper presents an overview of proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller and it´s tuning. Two systems are selected for study. One is higher order system and the other is first order system with time delay. The performance of PID tuning techniques is analyzed on the basis of frequency response parameter that is phase margin. Simulation results are presented and performances of different PID tuning techniques are compared.
