Abstract :
Ontology provides a formal representation of a shared conceptualization while conceptualization plays a major role in software engineering field, so ontology is recognized as a promising way to overcome the most of challenges of software engineering. A major bottleneck when developing ontologies for software project is the ability of stakeholders to understand and represent their knowledge. This paper provides a survey about using ontologies with software engineering and provides an ontology based concept for software engineering as a new approach to overcome some challenges that faces the use of ontology with software engineering.
