Abstract :
In this paper a semi-analytical procedure is employed to evaluate the performance of a wireless ATM local area network based on the IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol, taking into account the effects of propagation over a real radio channel. Numerical results are presented as a function of the MAC frame length and of the signal-to-noise ratio in order to evaluate network performance and to provide guidelines for the overall system design
