Abstract :
We report on the evaluation of two applications using spelled name recognition. We report on the evaluation of the whole system during a four month field evaluation on two different tasks: a call routing device and an e-mail reader system. The field evaluation showed that nearly 90% of the calls were completed successfully. After describing the technology and the evaluation procedure, the results are presented and the type of errors discussed
