  • Abstract
    The concept of the cost of quality which originated in early 1950 s is being practiced widely, nowadays, as the organization are realizing its importance in measuring and improving the performance. It is very easy to implement quality cost concept in manufacturing organization whereas it is beneficial to service industries like technical institute too, though implementation is difficult. The cost of quality (COQ) is the cost of producing, finding, correcting and preventing defects. The quality cost analysis identifies areas of opportunity for improving quality and reducing costs. Quality cost data over a period of time helps to identify the trend and track improvement. Total quality cost categorized into prevention, appraisal, internal failure and external failure cost. These individual cost element hits the every aspects of technical institute giving the important areas to give more attention. This paper present an application of quality cost in technical institute and develops the framework to monitor improvement continuously.
