Abstract :
This paper analyzes different features of AVS and MPEG-2 and presents an efficient AVS-to-MPEG2 transcoding system structure. A list of key techniques, including MB mode mapping, MV resampling, MV refinement and QP mapping are used as optimal solutions, thus improving both speed and quality performance. To meet the requirement for different applications, a layered transcoding scheme is also introduced. The transcoding system has been implemented on PCs.
