Abstract :
In recent years, video streaming delivery services of several Mbps has become very popular on IP networks such as the Internet. At the present stage, however, commercial high-quality video streaming that will need tens of Mbps is provided only by specified service providers who can guarantee communication quality of the network. Therefore, in order to let many users enjoy the services freely and easily on the Internet of which network environment is very complicated and heterogeneous, many unspecified service providers must make clear the effect of the network quality to the video quality, and at the same time, construct a certain mechanism for keeping video quality good between end points. From the mentioned above, we evaluated experimentally the quality of video streaming that is transmitted on UDP after being encoded by MPEG1 and MPEG2-TS respectively with the transmit rate of 10 - 40 Mbps. Furthermore, based on the results, we studied an application of dynamic QoS control to video data for guaranteeing video quality and moreover a video quality guarantee system that consists of the dynamic QoS control and SNMP. In this paper, we describe the result of experimental quality evaluation of high-speed video streaming and the result of study on a video quality guarantee system by dynamic QoS control
