Abstract :
A high speed data service will be provided by the next generation wireless local loops for Internet access and data file download. Consequently, the impact of high speed data service on the system capacity becomes an important issue for ongoing research and system design of wireless local loops, especially on the forward link due to asymmetrical traffic patterns. Due to their fixed nature, directional antennas can be used on wireless local loop terminals to enhance the forward link performance. This paper investigates the capacity of such a wide band CDMA wireless local loop system for data download applications
