Landscape urbanism uses the instrumental landscape as a lens and an operative medium for the post-industrial cities, overcomes the limitations of the traditional ways of urbanism, develops a new approach of dynamic planning and suggests a new cross discipline, seeks new potentials and possibilities for the future of contemporary cities. On various urban sites, landscape urbanism developments new practical strategies, including the landscape programmatic strategies, the landscape embedment strategies, the landscape recovering strategies, the landscape engrafting strategies and the landscape catalyzing strategies.
