Abstract
Finite element analysis (FEA) method is used to investigate the mechanical performance of the joint segment for hybrid beam in cable-stayed bridge. The results show that the stiffness of the joint segment changes uniform and the loads can transfer smoothly in the steel beam and the concrete beam. The shear forces of headed studs are not uniform. This study shows that the connection between the steel beam and the concrete beam is reliable and the structure details of the joint segment are rational. The structure shows good mechanical performance under the design load.
