Abstract :
A receiver employing frequency discriminator demodulation and MLSE detection is proposed for application in the GSM mobile telephone system. Computer simulated results showing the performance of the proposed scheme under severe multipath fading, based on 2-ray and typical GSM propagation models, are presented. In addition, the superior tolerance to carrier frequency offset of the proposed receiver, as compared to coherent demodulation, is verified
