Abstract :
In this paper we present an algorithm for joint codeword and power adaptation in uplink code division multiple access (CDMA) systems with multipath channels between users and the base station. The algorithm is based on gradient descent (GD) interference avoidance (IA) and adapts user codewords and powers incrementally to meet specified targets for the signal- to-interference+noise-ratio (SINR). The proposed algorithm is illustrated with numerical examples obtained from simulations.
