Abstract
For network planning purposes of wireless communication systems the transmission loss is a non-sufficient criterion. For digital systems the bit error rate is the most relevant criterion. In this paper a new method is presented to predict the bit error rate for a 2FSK-modulation from the results of a ray optical wave propagation model. For verification a measurement system with 2FSK-modulation has been built to measure the bit error rate and the transmission loss simultaneously. Measurement results are shown and compared with simulations
