Abstract
A novel fuzzy set theory approach for handling the parameter uncertainties for bifurcation analysis of large scale power systems is proposed in this work. Unlike conventional techniques where parameters are mostly assigned crisp values for the analysis, this paper makes use of parameters with fuzzy distribution. Numerical results include validation of the fuzzy approach to handle parameter uncertainties, determination of critical margins to maintain voltage stability within the network by observing the point of bifurcation along the P-V plot. Simulation study on standard IEEE 14-bus test system is conducted to test the performance and effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
