Abstract :
For the purpose of developing a series of novel supported NiO and AgO catalysts for toluene as a model compound of tar from a biomass gasification process, the supported MO/Al2O3 and AgO/Al2O3 catalysts were prepared and characterized. Considerless of the porous structure with some loading of AgO and NiO in catalysts , results showed that the Ni-based catalysts not only had a smaller pore size, but also had a larger specific area. After using a bench-scale catalyst evaluated device to investigate the activity of the catalysts,we got that the toluene removal efficiency reached to 97% for catalytic pyrolysis with 15wt%NiO/Al2O3 catalyst at 800°C. But the activity of AgO/Al2O3 catalyst was poor.
