Abstract :
Adopting the sub-optimal vector in the mutant operation and introducing dynamic updating of the parameters, Competition Differential Evolution Strategy (CDES) is proposed to synthesize a main beam with optimized polarization in conformal arrays. An example of circular polarized patch antennas array conformal to a spherical surface is presented. Simulated radiation pattern data for the patches are used in the synthesis. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed approach is able to obtain better synthesis result reliably and efficiently.
