  • Abstract
An enhancement of Faraday rotation effect can be fulfilled in one-dimensional (1-D) magneto-photonic crystals (MPCs). Numerical calculations imply that the simple multilayer films with only two magnetic layers can meet the need of optical isolator (transmission ratio T>95% and Faraday rotation angel thetasF = 450). The structure is (N2/N1)3/M/(N1/N2)3/N1/(N2/N1)3/M/(N1/N2)3, where N1, N2, M are SiO2, GaAs, Bi:YIG, respectively. In this short paper we will analyze the error in thickness and refractive index of each layer.
