Abstract
This paper presents the design of the divertor target plates of the Dynamic Ergodic Divertor (DED) for TEXTOR-94. Insulator candidate materials that will protect the DED coils from heat radiation were tested with respect to their thermal shock resistance. They were elected taking into account their availability and machining properties and integrated to the DED design. The complete divertor target design including mounting elements is described
