Abstract
Flower-like and sphere-like ZnO microcrystal have been synthesized by microwave heating method using ZnCl2-2H2O and NaOH as ZnO-precursor and gemini cationic surfactant trimethylene-1,3-bis(dodecyldimethyl ammonium bromide) as template molecules. The effect of reaction temperature, reaction time, and microwave oven power on morphology has been studied. X-ray diffraction pattern suggests that the ZnO crystals are pure hexagonal phase. The scanning electron microscope analysis was employed to determine the morphology of the products. The absorption peaks of ZnO in UV regions indicate that the as-prepared ZnO are excellent inorganic UV-absorbent.
