  • Abstract
Synchronisation in reception is an important step. For DVB-T2 (Digital Video Broadcasting - Second Generation Terrestrial) standard, it is based on the detection of a preamble, which has a particular structure. This paper exposes the results of a theoretical analysis of the method proposed in the implementation guidelines of the standard. Several equations were derived following two hypotheses: a P1 is received or noise is received. We demonstrated that in presence of a P1 in input, the output has a trapezoidal shape whereas when there is only noise in input, the output is flat. The equations obtained have then been validated using a simulation chain. Finally, the P1 detection has been tested for a mobile terrestrial channel and several mobile satellite channels, and we showed that the threshold we defined allowed us to obtain satisfactory results.
