Abstract :
In this paper, by using finite element analysis(FEA) and boundary element analysis(BEA), the potential distribution of 500kV Gapless MOA on Power Lines is calculated. Considering towers, power lines, grading rings and etc, the position and size of grading rings are adjusted to optimize the structure. The results of FEA and BEA numerical calculation indicate that the resistor of MOA at the line side would bear a very high voltage without grading ring or with unsuitable grading rings. While the 500kV Gapless MOA is used on tower, fitting 3 grading rings only at the line side and no grading ring at the tower side, would realize the uniformity of the potential distribution, and the non-uniform coefficient of voltage distribution is no more than 9.50%.
